Hello everyone, today I have a very elegant project featuring products by CAS-ual Fridays. Even though I’m a huge fan of one layer cards, I decided to add some dimension to my card today. And I didn’t want it to be just a simple frame, I wanted this card to sparkle and shine.
As you can see, it was some work to add all the double-sided adhesive to my card front before I could add the gilding flakes for the sparkle. The end result, in my opinion, was totally worth it, though. The texture and color variation in the gilding flakes is just perfect for this frame. If you have a laminator or the Minc machine, you could even try foiling. Since I have neither, I went with the gilding flakes and could achieve a very similar effect.

Since I wanted the flowers to complement the frame, and not compete with it, I decided to only do a very light coloring. I finally got out my distress markers again, which had been neglected for quite some time and were quite sad about that. You can scribble distress markers either on an acrylic block or directly onto the paper, and I did the latter. If you do not have the distress markers, you can always use the distress ink pads and just put some ink down onto your work surface and pick it up with a brush.

To add the finishing touch, it sprinkled some sequins by Pretty Pink Posh onto my card. I tried to use colors that I used in the card so that they would match the overall color scheme and I think it turned out just lovely!
Thanks for stopping by today and leaving a comment, you made my day!
I’m also sending this card off to the following challenges: Addicted to Stamps and More “Make Your Mark” and Simon Says Stamp “Die-Crazy”.
