What a fun filled weekend! Thank you, Paulina, for this wonderful blog hop. I was so inspired I went on and created a third project.
For this card, I drew my inspiration from the wonderful Julie Ebersole and her recent post on how to use Gilding Flakes. I had never heard of this material before, but I ordered it the moment I had finished watching her video 
And it’s just magnificent!
I stamped the two cups from the Heartfelt Holiday stamp set from Wplus9 with Versamark, then poured Judikins Sticky Stuff (no, really, that’s what it’s called) onto it and heat-set it. I put my heat gun underneath the paper because the sticky stuff has the habit of flying off before it gets sticky.
As Julie Ebersole mentioned, the trick is to have it look shiny and then immediately stop; otherwise the Sticky Stuff will set and not allow you to attach anything to it.
I then grabbed the Gilding Flakes and put them on top of the now sticky surface, using my finger to gently push it down. With my Ranger Rub It Scrub It I gently removed the flakes that weren’t attached. It’s messy and you better be able to hold you breath because any air movement makes the flakes fly around the room, but it’s soooooooo worth it.
Here’s a close up of the gilding flakes effect and it’s so pretty. I was surprised that the die set that comes with the stamps doesn’t have a die for these two cups, just for the larger cup. I had to fuzzy cut the cups, but it’s not difficult. The tags were cut from Bazzill paper with Mama Elephant’s Embellished Tag Creative Cuts. Isn’t that stitched border just lovely?
Before I put everything together, I sprinkled some Stampin Up! Gold mist onto the card base, used some Lawn Fawn Trimmings for the tags, and of course some Sparkling Clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh. I inset some with a red pearl to carry the christmas feeling throughout the card.
